Part II: The bridge near the main station


The track on the bridge near the main station was carried right off of the bridge by the high, swift flood waters of Loyalhanna Creek. However, as you can see in the photo, the track itself held together, hanging in the water from shore to shore like a hammock suspended between two trees.

Here, again, is our little station house, smashed against the steel of the bridge.
As you can see, the water was still quite high and swift when these photos were taken.
This is a shot taken from the other side of the creek, looking toward the main station.
It must have been a harrowing experience crossing the bridge over this high water to get these photos!
This is kind of an interesting picture, taken again from the far side of the bridge, looking at the track hanging in the swift current.
